GNB Girls Flag Football League Expanded Divisions Community Pipeline to High School and College
✨ Coach, Parents & Player Tips
Coach’s Clipboard: Teach your defenders to funnel ball-carriers toward the sideline like a human trap—once they’re hugging the tape, it’s a bonus teammate helping you rack up flags (and makes for great highlight clips!).
Postgame Parents: When your kiddo’s waiting for the microwave, challenge them to hop on one foot until it pings, then switch sides—those sneaky single-leg power reps skyrocket stability and explosive strength without adding a single extra minute to your day.
Players Snap: Swap one of your weekly interval runs for a swim or bike ride—breaking the routine builds fresh endurance and keeps your legs from staging a mutiny.

🏅 GNB Girls Flag Football League: Building ‘girl-power mentality’
The GNB Girls Flag Football League launched its second season in New Bedford with expanded age and skill divisions, offering girls ages 7–18 an eight-game schedule plus playoffs and a championship. Backed by United Way of Greater New Bedford and local sponsors, founders Antwaun Murphy and Ceasare Roderick aim to build a sustaining community platform and pipeline to high school and college programs. This growth mirrors flag football’s surge nationwide and its upcoming debut as a 2028 Olympic medal sport.
“When girls are around other girls they feel more powerful and more heard with their ideas than they do in co-ed sports,” Krystal Resendes said.
