Savannah summer flag football league targets younger female players

A new Savannah summer league is giving girls aged 7–14 a chance to play 5-on-5 flag football in an all-female setting. Now in its second season, the Turf Love league has partnered with NFL Flag Jacksonville Jaguars to offer registration sponsorships for its fall program. Last year’s six teams and roughly 60–70 players have doubled to about 130 signups so far, with registration still open. Community groups like the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club and ILA Local 1414 Union have donated gear and referee funding to support the growth.
