Aztec Link NIL collective hosts female flag football combine for young San Diegans
Local coaches and SDSU football players partnered to host a female flag football combine in San Diego, giving girls aged 13 to 17 a chance to hone their skills on the university’s practice field. The event featured dynamic warmups, position-specific drills, and progressive scrimmages—culminating in seven-on-seven matchups—that tested quarterbacks, receivers, and defensive backs alike. Set against a backdrop of rapid growth in women’s flag football, participants drew inspiration from collegiate athletes who shared techniques and motivational insights. As the NAIA and NCAA expand varsity programs and flag football gears up for its Olympic debut in 2028, this combine spotlighted young talent ready to seize emerging opportunities. Coaches like Derek Ferrell celebrated the community’s support and emphasized how this event could shape future Olympians.
