FCPS Girls Flag Football Program Launches with 770 Players, Olympic Scholarship Pathway

✨ Coach, Parents & Player Tips

Coach’s Clipboard: On the drive to kickoff, turn each red light into a “gear grin check”—players point out one piece of their equipment and crack a quick joke about it, so you catch missing cleats or mouthguards and land on the field smiling.

Postgame Parents: Label your kid’s snack bags “Pre-Game: 90 min,” “Pre-Game: 15 min,” and “Halftime” so they fuel like pros (and you dodge the “Mom, I’m starving!” meltdown five minutes before kickoff). Easy, timed snacks mean steady energy, fewer hangry moments, and more high-fives on the sideline.

Players Snap: Got jitters before the snap? Bounce on your toes for three seconds and whisper “bring it on” — use that nervous energy as your launch pad, not your kryptonite.
